He received a PhD in Environmental Science from the University of Cambridge. He has worked across several high-profile organizations such as the University of Zambia and Natural Resources Development College, Lusaka.
He has directed scientific research, applied conservation projects, training and capacity development across networks of national organizations in 19 countries. In the UK, he has worked as an Environmental Consultant for over 15 years, a guest lecturer in climate change and humanitarian context at the University of East London, and as a Lecturer in agroforestry at the University of Zambia and at the Natural Resources Development College in Zambia.
He was the Director of Science and Conservation at A Rocha and led many projects on international conservation policy and provided strategic direction and scientific insight. He is a chartered scientist and a member of several professional institutions and councils.
